I.T.E.

I.T.E. CIRCUIT BREAKER COMPANY OF USA, an ancestor company of SPEC-FAB COMPANY, through successive corporate changes, has developed plants in Canada. These include: I.T.E. CANADA, I.T.E. IMPERIAL, R.I.E. CO., I.T.E. GOULD, BROWN BOVERI CANADA, and ABB CANADA.

I.T.E. developed the IPB or (ISOLATED PHASE BUS) in 1937, to overcome high current and space limitation problems.

ABB CANADA

ABB CANADA was originally a plant, developed by the successive corporate changes of I.T.E.. In 1987, a subdivision of I.T.E., known as Brown Boveri Canada, had its plant equipment, personnel, and technical expertise transferred to SPEC-FAB. Isolated Phase Bus, has since that time on been produced by Spec-Fab Inc.

SPEC-FAB

SPEC-FAB INC. carries on a tradition of over 60 years of continuous service to the Power Generating Industry supplying Isolated Phase Bus equipment. SPEC-FAB USA, located near Philadelphia, handles global sales and marketing for SPEC-FAB CANADA.

A direct lineage of the transference of technical and manufacturing expertise, along with fabricating plant, can be traced to the development of the IPB concept of 1937 when the IPB was introduced by I.T.E.

Since 1987 (when SPEC-FAB started producing IPB equipment in partnership with ABB CANADA), SPEC FAB’s production has spanned the globe in new installations, retrofits and in the supply of service parts for plants that were originally built by its predecessors.

An independent company today, SPEC-FAB's engineers and manufacturing personnel have decades of experience. SPEC-FAB INC. can service its predecessor’s customers with efficiency and expertise, both for new and existing installations.

***PROVEN SERVICE

To this present day, not a single phase to phase short circuit has ever been reported.
